Benign lumps and bumps
The eyelids and their surrounding areas are important areas on our body, with lots of different structures that can sometimes cause lumps and bumps. Most of these lumps are harmless, but there are a few that could be a sign of something more serious, like cancer. Usually, a skilled eye doctor can figure out what the lump is by asking about your medical history and doing a close examination. Sometimes, though, they might need to do a biopsy, which means taking a tiny piece of the lump to study it under a microscope.
